Development Environment: docker

Setup on Linux​

  • Tested on Ubuntu/Manjaro
  • located in scripts/start_docker.sh
    $ ./scripts/start_docker.sh --help

Start manually​

    $ docker run -it --rm -v ${PATH_TO_CAROLOCUP_REPO}:/home/galaxis/carolo-cup registry.git.rwth-aachen.de/team_galaxis/galaxis-docker/galaxis-dev:latest

For X11 forwarding and host network (only Linux/Ubuntu)

    $ docker run -it --rm --network=host --ipc=host --privileged -e DISPLAY -v /tmp/.X11-unix:/tmp/.X11-unix -v ${PATH_TO_CAROLOCUP_REPO}:/home/galaxis/carolo-cup registry.git.rwth-aachen.de/team_galaxis/galaxis-docker/galaxis-dev:latest

For X11 forwarding and host network and for GPU forwarding (only Linux/Ubuntu)

    $ docker run -it --rm --network=host --gpus all --ipc=host --privileged -e DISPLAY -v /tmp/.X11-unix:/tmp/.X11-unix -v ${PATH_TO_CAROLOCUP_REPO}:/home/galaxis/carolo-cup registry.git.rwth-aachen.de/team_galaxis/galaxis-docker/galaxis-dev:latest

Setup on Windows​

  • Refer to Setup on Linux -> Start manually

Useful Bash Tools​

  • dos2unix - Text file format converter (can be used to convert the sh files to runnable scripts)

Setup for docker GUI Applications (python nodes with matplotlib output, ...)​

  • Open powershell and install vcxsrv via choco: $ choco install vcxsrv
  • Run XLaunch (Guide: Multiple Windows -> Start no client -> -mark all boxes- -> Save configuration (%appdata%\Xming) -> Done!)
    $ set-variable -name DISPLAY -value ${YOUR-IP}:0.0
    $ docker run -it -e DISPLAY=$DISPLAY -v ${PATH_TO_CAROLOCUP_REPO}:/home/galaxis/carolo-cup registry.git.rwth-aachen.de/team_galaxis/galaxis-docker/galaxis-dev:latest
